Where Every Dog is Family
Camp Canine is a family owned dog daycare and boarding facility where dogs are in large play areas according to size and activity level throughout the day. We have five foot by five foot rooms for feeding, breaks and overnight sleeping.
- 10,000 square feet of inside space
- 3,000 square feet of outside play areas with six foot fence
- 3 large play areas each with their own outside area
- 50 5 x 5 rooms/kennels
- 21 dedicated staff members
- Heated, air conditioned, automatic generator, alarm system, smoke and Co2 detectors, cameras and lazer beam security

Newbies
Potential New Customers
We accept NEW customers throughout the year with the exception of weeks near a holiday.
For safe and healthy open play dogs must be:
Fixed if near or over a year due to open play concept
In good health
Friendly with other dogs and strangers
Older dogs, over 10 years may not do well with the open play concept if they have never been exposed to.
Vaccines we require: Rabies, DHLPP, Canine Influenza up to date from your vet and Bordetella and a Negative Fecal Test within SIX months.
To Get Started
First step is to send us your dogs vaccine records.
Fax 734-283-0064 OR email to campcaninedownriver@gmail.com your dogs recent vaccine records. Once sent, call 734-283-0060 to go over and set up a "Temperament Test"
The "Temperament Test" is $25 due upon scheduling
The day of the temperament test, we slowly add your pooch to the group and determine if open play is right for them. If so, they will stay 1.5 to 2 hours. Once complete, you are ready to go!
Please keep your dogs acculamated by bringing them at least every six months. If we do not see you for a year or so, we may require the temperament test again.
Tailored Play Areas
Dogs are grouped by size and activity level for safe and engaging play experiences throughout the day.
- Tiny Tots under 25 pounds
- Medium to Large Mellow Dogs
- Large Active Dogs
We do give breaks throughout the day to prevent over stimulation and make sure they are drinking water.
Comfortable Accommodations
Our five foot by five foot rooms ensure your dog has a cozy and secure space for feeding and resting. All are equipped with a cot for restful napping or overnight sleep overs.
When boarding please bring your dogs food, blanket/bed, treats and one or two toys or bones. No rawhide please.
We also have special treats you can purchase like peanut butter kongs, lick mats, pup cups and chew stix for further stimulation while in their room.

Our prices are fit to provide hours of fun. Extensive play helps release energy and makes for a more well behaved dog. During daycare and boarding, they will get hours of playtime with other dogs and our staff.

Holidays Hours include New Years Day, Labor Day, 4th of July, Memorial Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Years Eve,
Boarding
Please check in during these hours, 30 minutes prior to closing
Boarding pick up until 8:00 PM daily (ring bell if door is locked)
If you don't make it, no worries, we will see you the next day. Please leave us a message with the pick up time.
Daycare
Please drop off before 1:00 PM
Daycare pick up until 6:20 PM daily (ring bell if door is locked)
Late pick up may be schedule a few days in advance until 8:20 PM
(Late pick may not be available holidays or most weekends)
Holiday's we are full, please pick up for daycare by 5:30 PM including Spring Break week.
